A “Parenthood Moment”. If you’ve never seen the show Parenthood I suggest you jump onto Netflix and start watching it now! It’s pretty much my favorite show ever. I’m not a huge TV watcher because most of my work happens at night when I’d be sitting down to watch but this is one show I can’t resist. If you have seen the show then you know what I mean when I say a “Parenthood Moment”. You see in the show there’s the core Mom and Dad and all of their kids and now their kids have families. The show centers around them and their relationship as a big family. Often times things are messy as with most real families and then there are these moments when everything is wonderful and happy and they’re all together. I call those Parenthood moments. We have a Parenthood family on my husband’s side of the family. Mima and Poppy are our rocks and when we all get together its always fun and full of love (well most of the time). Sometimes we look around and Chris or I will whisper to the other “Parenthood Moment”.
I don’t experience this very often extended family portrait sessions. They can sometimes be very stressful! I can understand this now that I’ve had my own family pictures done. You put a lot of pressure on yourself for everything to be perfect. That pressure transfers on to the kids and so on. I did it at my own session so believe me I understand! This session was totally different. The only way to describe it is a Parenthood moment. It was fun from start to finish! This Christ centered family has so much love for each other and mom and dad are responsible for it. I think the pictures reflect this family perfectly! It brought me so much joy to photography them and even more joy at their premiere night! They may have set the record for longest premiere night but I enjoyed every second of it!
You’ll notice in all of the pictures that this family has some pretty big events coming up! A wedding just a week away (when I photographed it-they are now living their happily ever after) and a new grand baby on the way! Micaela is an amazing artist herself. She is the genius behind little h. and makes gorgeous props for newborns. You can see her amazing work here. I cannot wait to photographer her new baby girl in some of her amazing creations!
Well I guess you want to see these pictures I’m raving about! Here they are!
